Not to be crass but…

Troubleshooting technical issues is much easier when both the user and support agent practice clear communication. For this reason, we have provided the template below for you to fill out with information about your issue. Please provide as much detail as possible so we can most efficiently resolve your problem.

Description of the issue: I closed a browser and deleted the history. When I swipe up on my iphone, and it shows the tabs, it shows a preview of the website. Well…it’s something crass on the preview and I don’t know how to get rid of it!! It’s driving me nuts. It’s the only thing that shows too like I’m being shamed lol

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Opening up Brave

  2. Go to another app

  3. Swipe up on iPhone and the website preview shows

Expected result:

Brave Version( check About Brave): unsure

Mobile Device details: iPhone 14, updates with new update

Additional Information: when you get back with me, I will have a screenshot ready. I just close it so fast because what the heck!

@Uhjelloplz

Go to Brave Browser (iOS) > Settings > Shields & Privacy and scroll down to Manage Website Data. ← There, click the Remove All button.

And, you might take a look at another issue, re lingering - but trying to Shred - website data, that might be related:

@Uhjelloplz the preview aspect that shows is the cache saved by our OS itself, it’s not anything by Brave. Basically it’s the iPhone’s app switcher. Let me link a reply from one of the Brave developers on this below:

So basically, change the device orientation and put the app in the background, it should then replace the image. Again, this is in your OS cache so the Brave app can’t do anything to it.
