No sound in Brave stable on Android 13 (Realme 9 Speed Edition), works in Beta

I’m facing an issue where no sound plays in the Brave stable browser on my Realme 9 Speed Edition running Android 13. This happens on all sites, including YouTube. I’ve tried all common fixes:

Site sound permissions checked

Volume is up

Cleared cache/data

Reinstalled Brave

Disabled battery saver and focus mode

Tried guest profile

No other apps interfere

Disabled Hardware Acceleration

Interestingly, I installed Brave Beta, and sound works perfectly there. So the issue seems specific to the stable release on my device.

Device Info:

Device: Realme 9 Speed Edition

Android version: 13

Brave version (stable): 1.79.118

Brave Beta version: 1.80.95

@rudrathakur can you please launch Brave and go to Settings --> Site settings scroll down to Sound and ensure that it is set to Allowed?

Hello, I’m not him, but I’m definitely encountering this problem, I had to download brave beta to resolve this issue on my Android 13 phone. I uninstalled the brave stable version and reinstalled it and with stock settings I tried to play various videos (which I can confirm have audio) but none of them has any sound, if I do the exact same with exact same stock settings in brave beta, it just works, without me changing anything. This is not happening in my mac machine or my Linux machine or any latest Android version phones, this is affecting Android 13 only.

Latest Brave stable version where sound is not working (confirmed by me): 1.81.137

I switched to Brave beta 2-3 months ago and sound has been working ever since in it.

I’m using Realme GT Master Edition RMX3360

There’s something in the beta builds that’s different and resolving this issue, Please fix this ASAP.
