Mobile UI gesture regression – browser chrome appears on any touch during embedded video playback
Hello,
I’m reporting a UI behavior change on mobile/tablet that started after the update released around January 10.
Before this update:
• Scrolling down would hide the top browser UI (tabs/address bar) for immersive full-screen viewing
• While interacting with embedded HTML5 video players (such as swiping left/right within the player area), the browser chrome remained hidden
• Page-level gestures worked without triggering the browser UI
After the update:
• Any screen touch — including horizontal swipes inside video player elements — immediately brings back the top browser UI
• This breaks immersive viewing and interferes with in-player gestures
• Full-screen behavior no longer respects content interaction priority
This feels like a regression in gesture handling where browser UI now intercepts all touch input instead of allowing embedded media/content to manage interactions.
Likely related to gesture prioritization or scroll/touch event handling changes introduced in the recent update.
Is this an intentional UX change, a known issue, or something planned to be adjusted?
Thank you.
