Metamask automatic open in second tab when starting the brave browser

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Install the metamask extension(current version 12.14.2), and close the browser.
  2. Open the browser now or by restarting the PC and then open the browser.
  3. You will see that a second tab is open which is a metamask expanded web page.

Expected result: No other tabs should be opened when starting the browser

Brave Version:1.77.95

Additional Information: I don’t know whether this issue is with metamask or with brave browser, but for past 3 days after updating the browser I’m seeing this issue in desktop browser. I’m not seeing the same issue in mobile browser (maybe because metamask has application instead of extension).
