I am seeing in-video ads, mostly at the beginning of the video. After 5 seconds I can skip the ad and start the video. I can also see an add under the “queue” playlist on the right below the video (in theatre mode).

In the brave://components page, I see this after checking for an update on the Ad Block Updater:

Status - Component not updated

As a side note, there are several of those components which give the same message of not updated.

I watched a video that I saw an ad on during normal browsing in a private browsing video, and there was no ad in the beginning.

One thing to possibly note, I blocked JavaScript on youtube by default and that STOPS the ads (so far that I’ve seen), but every time I view a new video I have to go into to the BRAVE SHIELDS options, expand Scripts Block and allow just the www.youtube one

Ads on youtube since 48 hours ago (Chile, SouthAmerica user) only at start (video) and when i open a video youtube on a new tab.

Ads I’m getting on YouTube are banner ads and the overlay ads at the start of videos.

I checked brave://components and it said the ad blocker wasn’t up to date, so I reinstalled brave but it still says the same thing.

Thanks for your efforts, hoping you can fix it soon as I’d rather not let YouTube make any money off me these days. Cheers.
