Locale in Ad Diagnostics is wrong and hasn't been receiving ads for the last 12 months

yea, he says he checked both and changed to India, but that still did not help

Yh. Everything is set to India. But still Brave shows locale as US in rewards-Internals

@zootyleon In windows, it’s the “Region format” in Region settings that determine your Locale on Ad diagnostics. Is it set to English (India)? Can you post a screenshot of your language and region settings?

Could you change the region to US for some time and then change back to India ?

It was US before, changed to India yesterday

What Windows version is this? I have Region Format in system settings-

version : Windows 8.1 Pro

@zootyleon In 8.1, can you change “Region” settings from Control Panel? Change everything there location, region, language etc. to match your country. I suspect there must be something set to English (US). Do post an update.

Everything is set to India as uploaded in this reply

Yeah, but that’s from wondows settings. Control panal also have some region settings. We just need to find a setting in Windows 8.1 that can tweak Brave’s locale in Ad diagnostics. Probably @Mattches can give more info.

Yeah. found it. changed to India. Now the locale in Ad diagnostics shows India again.
But haven’t received any ads yet. Will wait for a few days. Tnx man

@zootyleon Just to confirm, which setting was it exactly, in 8.1?

Home location.

But the main problem of “not receiving Ads” isn’t resolved yet

@zootyleon Are you getting not getting any type of Ad, like New Tab Page (NTP) Ad, Ad Notifications, Brave News Ads, none? You can test for NTP Ads by refreshing NTP 5-6 times after a relaunch.

New tab page ads are coming. But no Ad notifications

@zootyleon Check out https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360058972091-Push-Notification-Test and follow instructions. See if notification gets served to you. Might be that you need to adjust settings on your device.

Also, when you say still no ad notifications, could you check with a new profile and see if it shows anything after you enable Rewards on it. Part of why I’m asking is it’s possible your main account had gotten flagged due to your Locale being off and not showing you in India.

So first part about notification test is checking your device settings and making sure notifications could be served.

Second part is just kind of wanting to test whether you can get ads on a “clean” account. If so, then likely flagged. Usually only way specifically to tell is to try to connect to Uphold/Gemini, but with India kind of being limited on that, we can’t check for that.

Yeah, check out link posted by Saoiray and this, to configure your OS for notifications- https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360055013431-Why-don-t-I-see-any-Brave-Ads-after-enabling-them-

However, since you are getting NTP Ads, I don’t think you are flagged. And with your locale now correct, you should be getting BATs for NTP Ads as well. Do post an update.

Tried the push notification test. Test notification came.

Created a new profile. But only NTP ads are coming in that as well.

yes, am getting BAT for NTP ads.
But no notification type ads yet. Push notification test was successful.

The OS tweeks given in the guide are for windows 10. The options mentioned in that aren’t available for windows 8.1 pro.
