iOS, bookmark folders show random icons

Description of the issue: In the current version of Brave on iOS (and many previous versions), folders in the bookmarks initially display stray favicons. Oddly they’re not favicons from within the folder in question - they don’t seem to match any bookmarked sites. I sync to desktop and laptop, and they’re fine on the other platforms. A quick down-swipe refresh, and they revert to the correct plain folder icons.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Launch Brave in iOS.

  2. Open the bookmarks

Expected result: The bookmark folders shouldn’t have graphic icons.

Mobile Device details iPhone 14, fully updated

Additional Information: Doesn’t affect usability in any way - it’s just a mysterious, persistent glitch. Screenshots:

Bizarre performance, and an issue for years. Thanks for reporting.

Example (from the Related) section at the bottom of this (your) issue webpage:

‘Broken fav icons on iOS devices’

Seems to be an intermittent / temporary network issue … given that, usually the issue eventually resolves for a while.
