Intermittent audio crackling with USB audio interface in Brave

Hello

I am experiencing intermittent crackling when using a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen in Brave during voice chats or browser based audio recording

The hardware is functioning correctly. Direct monitoring is perfectly clean. Recording through Windows Sound Recorder is also completely clean

LatencyMon shows no system latency issues. The latest official Focusrite driver is installed. Buffer size is set to 512 and sample rate to 48 kHz. Exclusive mode and hardware acceleration are disabled

The crackling only occurs in Brave and does not occur in native Windows recording

This suggests the issue may be related to Brave WebRTC audio handling rather than the audio interface or Windows

Is this a known issue and are there any recommended settings for improving stability with professional USB audio interfaces?

Thank you

Since your direct monitoring and Windows recordings are clean, the issue clearly points toward Brave’s WebRTC handling, not your Focusrite or system. It’s likely a browser level sample rate sync or device routing issue. Try forcing the exact same input and output device inside Brave and double check no background app is accessing the mic.

I once saw a similar case where everything was fine on the backend, just like data on bhulekh bihar is correct but the portal display causes confusion — the issue was purely on the browser side.

Also test in Chrome or Edge to confirm it is strictly Brave related.
