Thanks so much
Yes it is broken
I can successfully login with a private window. I am on a clean install of Brave and my OS.
I do know know about beta or nightly.
EDIT:
Tried clearing cookies and it worked. However on a clean install that never had Instagram logged in, I should not have to clear cookies to make it work.
Thanks for your response! Unfortunately, the issue persists across profiles, and nightly builds, and is also present in private windows. So…
@Mattches and @fanboynz wanted to tag you both in on follow-up as it’s been a little while. I know is an open Github opened by Mattches but think it’s just been users responding. Uncertain if anyone from Brave has been able to take a deeper look yet
This worked! Thanks!
It looks like we’ve made some changes and merged them yesterday — hopefully this helps resolve the issue:
It seems that Brave regularly deletes our saved passwords. Has anyone else been concerned about this? Last week, I saved my login username and password for make.com, but this week, when I tried to log in again, I noticed that the password had disappeared. This hasn’t only happened with my make.com password, but with several others as well. Has anyone else noticed that your saved passwords disappear after saving them in Brave?
Regards, Budi
Is Brave’s system stealing our saved passwords by removing them from the list? We should be cautious on the disappearance of those saved passwords from Brave’s password manager.
Regards, Budi
@widodobudi please read the following documentation on why this may be the case:
Note that the above article assumes you have checked to confirm that you are not clearing your browsing data “on exit” (Settings --> History --> Clear browsing data --> On exit) or that you have set your Shields settings for this site to Forget me when I close this site).
Ok I will try to set that Sync setting, thanks Mattches.
Yes, I am not clearing your browsing data “on exit” , I do not clear browsing data → On exit and I have not set your Shields settings for this site to Forget me when I close this site)
I’ve encountered this issue before when using Brave to log into Instagram. I usually switch to another browser like Chrome if I hit a wall. Privacy-focused browsers like Brave sometimes have quirks with login forms, especially if shields or ad-blocking are active. One thing that worked for me was logging in through the private/incognito window, which a few folks mentioned can bypass cookie restrictions or cache-induced problems.
If managing multiple accounts is a pain, especially for business purposes, it might be worth checking out AccsZone - Accounts store. They offer ready-made accounts, which makes managing social media smoother.
