I am prompted to save my userid but I have to re-enter it every time

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. I go to a website frequently visited
  2. When it loads the userid is blank
  3. I enter my userid and password and click log in
  4. It askes me if I want to save the username and I always say “yes”
  5. Sometimes I get an acknowledgement of saving the userid from the next log in screen or a message from the website that the userid has been savied.
  6. The next time I go to the same site expecting my userid to be pre-populated, it is blank and I have to repeat the same process over and over
  7. I am a new brave user (was a chrome user) and I cannot seem to figure out why it does not populate the userid.

Expected result:

Simply finding my userid pre-populated

Brave Version( check About Brave):

All versions so far up to version 1.78.102

Additional Information:

I did try to find this issue but I am new and did not have much luck. Sorry if this is too simple but I have not been able to figure out how to get it to store my userid like chrome always did.
