How to add Mullvad Leta as the default search engine?

Description of the issue: Can’t use Mullvad Leta as the default search engine

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

1. I went into: brave://settings/search, made sure to have “Index other search engines” turned on.
2. Once done, I went into to leta.mullvad.net and performed any search on the site

Actual Result :
‘Mullvad Leta’ doesn’t appear under Inactive searches and thus I can’t use it as a default search engine

Expected result:
When going to brave://settings/searchEngines, I should have seen “Mullvad Leta” under Inactive searches and be able to click on the three dots, and make it as the default search engine

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
MacOs

1.80.115 (Official Build) (arm64)

I’ve tried the same process with StartPage and it works fine, is there a way to also have it for Mullvad Leta?

Sure, I have the option to use their search engine with a keyboard shortcut, but obliviously that’s less straighforward

Go to the “Search engine” tab in the settings. Then activate “Index other search engines”. Then call the Mullvad search engine once. After that, it should appear under “Inactive shortcuts”. You then activate it, and it moves to the section “Site search”. Then you need to set it as default and voilà. Really strange way to go about this, but it works.
