# How do i turn off leo?

I dont want short descriptions, i dont want ai anywhere in this desktop client. Im not talking about the “turn off appearance” stuff. I mean i want it gone from the client. I want it permanently disabled

You cannot remove the code itself unless you build your own Brave version. You just disable the button, the context menu etc so there’s no way to run the code. The same goes for pretty much all features of Brave, wallet, adblocker etc. You can only disable them so that they do not run.

There’s also a way to disable Leo by policy so that you cannot even re-enable it. There’s another thread about it.

I am not even able to turn off appearance and keep it off for one second. I also don’t want to mess with code and unsafe experimental features.
