The option to save a tab group is not available yet in the sync page I see an option to sync saved tab groups. How do I save and restore tab groups?

yeah I have that on, that simply does not do a thing
That’s odd. It works for me. Any tab groups that I save display under a little button on the left side of the bookmarks bar.
One thing I would check is whether the group itself has been saved, not only the sync setting. In current Chromium/Brave builds that is usually from the tab group label/menu, then it should appear as a small saved-group item on the bookmarks bar. So I’d try: show the bookmarks bar, create a small new test tab group, right-click the group label and look for a save/pin option. If that test group also never appears, it may be a version/feature rollout issue rather than your existing group.
