When I add a site button to the Brave browser home page, the associated web page icon is not retained. As soon as I restart Brave, the icon is gone.
Are you clearing your browsing data when you close the browser (or before)?
I do clear the browsing data when I close the browser. However, this doesn’t seem like the web page icons should clear in the home page site button. I’m sure it’s a setting problem but I 've tried several things with no success. I’m pretty sure that sometime in the past the web icons were retained in the site button. I’m not going to worry about. The button (with generic icon) still takes me to my correct website.
@psgeorge yeah I believe it’s always been this way. The data type you’re selecting is the Cached images and files option. If you exclude this when you delete your data those favicons will be saved.
I excluded the Cached images and files option but the icons still disappear. I guess I can live with this as long as the site buttons continue to work. Thanks for your help.
