Thanks for the feedback, we’ve been having some issues with the stability of the GLM-5 model - unfortunately we don’t host this one ourselves so there’s very little we can do (also means that doing things like updating the IP/browser etc would have little effect)
The GLM-5 test is an experiment we’re running so feedback like this is very useful to see whether we want to release it into production. Have you been seeing similar issues with any of the other models?
i just feel like there isnt really a goal, usa case,functionality in mind for leo besides it sitting in the right side of your browser maybe as a summarizer
The models are kind of random and not really “selected” in any meaningful way for example why is mistral included? I dont really have to think about it because i havent seen it work once for the past 2 weeks. It would be better if you could actually feel certain models are included for whatever reason not just listed on there. Broad “categories”could be censoredness/speed/smartness atleast something like that
The quality is also undeniably worse than using a regular llm examples: if you ask it to write a sentiment over lets say a pharmaceutical out of 8 sources 3 will be from a dr.schizo blogposts, it is also unable retrieve information on actual websites you send to it. I think what made brave browser so succesful is that it showed that you can do quality searches without dumping your history into someones desk, but here its hard to argue the same
That being said i will renew my sub and it is worth it for me atleast but yeah just by looking at the community posts its kind of hard to feel like someone cares about it on a deeper level,

Note: Updated June 30, 2025 - Brave Leo now hosts all AI models, including Claude models, through our own secure infrastructure. Previously, some models were served through external providers, but we have updated our hosting arrangement to ensure all user interactions remain within Brave’s privacy-preserving environment.
Although I don’t see that model in my list of models.
Technically yeah it goes against that, but the NEAR models are only in Nightly and are considered an experiment - if we decide to add them to release then we’d have to update that for sure
