Content filtering features in Brave do not seem to work correctly on any platform.

Site blocking, custom filters, and similar filtering rules are not applied or are ignored across all operating systems (Android, iOS, and desktop).

This makes it impossible to rely on Brave’s filtering features for blocking specific sites or content. The issue does not appear to be OS-specific.

Be more specific. What site, what filter are you talking about.

All inbuilt filters works fine on my browser.

Anti adult sites filters don’t work.

@kasalotahmet you were asked for more details and nothing yet. If you need help, be sure to provide all necessary details. It is vital to know which OS you’re experiencing issues with, the exact version of Brave you’re doing, etc.

And if this is something to do with Shields, you should have put it under Browser Support > Ad-Blocking and be sure to mention your settings, which content filters you’re using, what website(s) you have problems with, etc.

And yes, I know you put Windows, Android, and iOS. But which ones? Are they all updated or are you using the older versions of Android, Windows, or whichever?

Did you try changing anything? For example, was it default, did you try it on stricter, etc?

Just simply saying “it doesn’t work” is not a helpful starting place for anyone to be able to help or to try to figure out the solution.

Maybe because the anti-porn filter is outdated and not comprehensive itself. It only blocks top sites.

I remember someone opened a feature request to replace the current list but the developers/list maintainers pretty much said “ehh, whatever”

Anyway, try switching to dns that blocks nsfw.

Template was ignored, did not provide information after asked multiple times, etc. If you need help, create a new topic and provide all necessary information. Be specific, not vague.

Example of a good post:

I enabled ABC Filter under content filtering. It does not seem to be working.

Example is going to xyz.site, which should block ads but I see ads showing as a banner on the top of the page. I changed from default to strict, but it did not help.

It does not work on other sites either. Even def.site has issues.

Opening in private tab did not make a difference.

I am on iPhone 13 using iOS 26.2.1

But not knowing what filters you’re referencing, what you’re saying is the issue, examples of sites where issues are happening, any troubleshooting steps, specific settings, etc makes it almost impossible to help.
