Facebook Comments Are Being Duplicated in Brave

Description of the issue: Facebook is duplicating my comments when using Brave. When I post a comment, the same comment is submitted twice even though I only click the Post button once. The issue appears to occur only when using Brave.

@MarcXIV can you confirm that this occurs every time you leave a comment, or is the issue intermittent?

Its every time. No fail. Even GIFs, photo comments, or even texts only.

Can you please try logging into Facebook in a private or guest window and see if you get the same results there?

It works properly when using Private window.

I suspected that might be the case.

Next I would check/try

  • Clearing cache/site data for Facebook (visit facebook.com, click the “tune” icon to the left of the URL in the address bar, then Site settings > Delete data – you’ll have to log back in after doing this)
  • Disabling any extensions you have installed to see if the issue still occurs after doing so. If not, then you can enable them one at a time to find the offending extension.
