First of all, I absolutely love this feature but I simply refuse to depend on it anymore because it doesn’t have a config file so it’s a pain to set it up, especially when on machines where I can’t or should not have to log in into sync etc.
I’d like to create a bunch of site search shortcuts but I had experience in the past where I’d loose all those shortcuts and I’m too lazy to do this every time on every machine, every account etc. A bunch of times I’ll just have a browser without an account at all so the lack of a configuration file makes me completely abandon this amazing feature.
I can see that the settings are stored in the $HOME/Library/Application Support/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/Default/Web Data
But the problem is that that’s a locked sqlite database. I’d love to have this in something like a toml/yaml/json config file that I can back up, store in Git, nixconfig or wherever.
Preferably I’d like to have that file in a standard location like $HOME/.config/brave_browser or something like that.
Please, take into account these types of use cases when developing settings options and configurations.
Thank you!
