Domain incompatibility with trailing dot

Description of the issue:

I was attempting to disable “Answer with AI” as well as change safe search from Moderate to Off via search.brave.com./settings. I hadn’t realized there was a trailing dot after .com, and I was able to connect to the site regardless. This doesn’t appear to be an issue at first, but it causes the settings I mentioned to “bounce back” when you try to modify their values.

I refreshed the page and checked the network tab in inspect, then tried to disable Answer with AI again, and it replied with 403 forbidden with the following message: {"message":"Cross-site POST form submissions are forbidden"}

Of course this is because the server expects search.brave.com but receives search.brave.com.. This can also be reproduced if trying to modify settings in an active search, such as: https://search.brave.com./search?q=brave. In this case, it instead refreshes the page when you attempt to change the setting, and the setting does not change.

This isn’t a bug that is in dire need of a fix, but is a bug nonetheless and stops any modifications to settings, for reasons that wouldn’t be apparent to most. The only modification I’d see is a redirect to the normal domain, but I’m not the expert!! Let me know if any clarification is needed or any more information. Thank you and have a good day to whoever reads. :slight_smile:
