Develop a Brave Email Client

Hello Brave team and community,I would like to propose that Brave creates its own native email client.Right now, there is no truly modern, clean, and privacy-first email client that feels worthy.Outlook is bloated, poorly designed in many ways, full of telemetry, and owned by Microsoft — one of the biggest data collectors in the industry.
Thunderbird is reliable and open-source, but it feels dated. Its interface has not kept up with modern design standards, and many users find it lacking in polish, speed, and contemporary features (lack of conversations, smart folders, better search, clean UI, proper keyboard shortcuts, etc.).

An official Brave Email client with fast, minimal, no-nonsense bloatware and modern ui that
supports multiple accounts (Gmail, Outlook, custom IMAP/SMTP, ProtonMail, etc.)
would be a serious competitor to Thunderbird lacks and Outlook corrupts with its corporate. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.Best regards.

Jumping in on this older post because I’m curious if anyone has seen movement in this space or found good modern alternatives. A lightweight, privacy-focused client would fill a big gap for a lot of us. I’d love to know what features people think are must-haves if Brave ever considered this seriously.

I’ve been hoping for a cleaner, privacy‑first email setup too, and I like the idea of Brave taking a swing at it. For sending bulk updates, I’ve been leaning on an email deliverability platform to keep my messages out of spam, so pairing something like that with a modern client would be a sweet combo. A fresh, lightweight interface would make daily email feel way less tiring.

Above are two free and open source mail clients that are modern and fast. Let me know if they work for you.
