Desktop to desktop sync Here we go again

Desktop to desktop sync does NOT sync open tabs, passwords, nothing is synced

So I added a 2nd profile after spending countless hours to get everything from 1 laptop to another on the first profile

Now I do the snyc thing again, both laptops say they see each other and not ONE thing syncs

I have shut both instances of brave down on both laptops

upgraded both

on the same wifi

This is beyond ridiculous

@312922 can you confirm your current Brave version? cc @Mattches

@312922 yes can I please know your browser version? Also what OS you’re using (for all devices)?

Brave 1.88.138 (Official Build) (64-bit) on both lapyops

Brave 1.88.138 (Official Build) (64-bit) both laptops both are win 11

I have deleted the profile on both and started over and it is the same
The very first profile is there, I did not delete it The profile name is exactly the same

To clarify, when you say you “deleted the profile” you’re referring to the Sync chain?

I started out with 1 profile and finally got it synced Then added the 2nd profile to both laptops, the 2nd profile is the one that will not sync. So I deleted the sync chain, deleted the profile on both laptops and then made a new 2nd profile on both laptops and it will not sync. All it did was screw up my bookmarks on my toolbar of the laptop I am trying to sync from. It doesnt sync anything. I go to the history and say click on tabs from other devices and it does nothing

If you start a Sync chain with one laptop, then only add the second offending profile to it, does the data Sync?

NO It does nothing I copy the link chain words to the 2nd laptop, 2nd profile and both of the laptops see each other. They both show up in each laptop sync window, so I know they are talking to each other but sync absolutely nothing I have deleted sync chains several times, deleted the profiles twice, reestsrted, rebooted upgraded etc, nothing syncs, but the 1st profile stays synced to the 1st laptop 1st profile. Will try adding another profile and see where that leads me. Need to get synced soon, 1st laptop has hardware issues and running by mgic I think

You can always just export stuff if that’s the case. In fact, in that case, exporting might be the way to go, to get backed up first before going forward.

Holy bot batman, that’s a verbatim copy and paste right there.
