my request was to add the new ui when installing brave setup cause at default it downloads and installs right at the program files and program files X86. like opera browser you can install anywhere before selecting your preferred location
If I correctly understand your request, you want:
The Brave Browser (stable, beta, nightly) installation process to include a User Interface (“UI”) prompt: for the user to select a preferred installation location that is “anywhere” on the computer.
Present Brave Browser (Windows OS) installation locations:
64 architecture, system level installation:
- “C:\Program Files\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\Application\brave.exe”
x86 architecture, system level installation:
- “C:\Program Files(x86)\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\Application\brave.exe”
64 / x86 architecture, user level installation:
- “C:\Users[UserName]\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\Application\brave.exe”
exactly cause sometimes doing a reinstall, it remembers the same settings in the registry
After the reinstall, does Brave Browser run . . . BUT . . . it does not recall the location of your User Data?
OR . . . does BB not run?
you see when installing opera browser and clicking options, you see the install path now apply that ui to brave setup, brave beta setup, brave nightly setup
Very likely, that Brave team understands your request. I was just checking existing BB performance - so they would already have that answer, too.
