CTRL+N/CTRL+P for selecting Next/Previous Item in the address bar

Hello,

I’ve been using Brave every day for 4 years and I love it. The only thing I envy from another browser is the ability to go through the suggestion list with vim-like keybindings :

  • ctrl+n for selecting the next item in the list
  • ctrl+p for selecting the previous item in the list

Zen currently implements this feature :

In Brave, there is the two ways of going up and down the suggestion list. Either by using the arrow keys or by using Tab and Ctrl+Tab. While using the arrow keys is fine, reaching for it slows you down when you’re typing. On the other hand, using Tab is really a pain as you often have to press it twice to go down one suggestion because of the X (Delete history based suggestion) button.

Although I know these keyboard shortcuts already correspond to the “Print” and “Create a new window”, I think it would be possible to disable them while typing in the address bar. That’s how Zen currently works.

This feature would only consist in mapping ctrl+n to Down Arrow and ctrl+p to Up Arrow for a brief moment.

Thank you !
