# Crashing often and randomly

**Description of the issue:**

Tapping on the tab control (the square with a number inside) has been causing Brave to crash often on iOS. This problem just started this morning (4/29/25, 8 AM Eastern time). Previously, I have encountered random crashes when adding bookmarks.

**Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.**

For the tab control button crash:

1. Open several websites in just 2 to 3 tabs.
2. Tap the tab control button.
3. This is enough to cause a crash.

For the “add a bookmark” crash:

1. Open a website.
2. Add the site as a bookmark.
3. Click Save.

**Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):**

Brave crashes, and in my setup, offers to restore the tabs that were open. Answering yes or no doesn’t make a difference in the likelihood of a future crash.

**Expected result:**

Brave should not crash in either scenario.

**Reproduces how often:**

Every time (for the tab control button crash) and randomly (for the bookmark crash).

**Operating System and Brave Version(See the `About Brave` page in the main menu):**

Version 1.77 (99)  
iOS 18.4.1 (22E252)

**Additional Information:**

On the desktop version of Brave, I remember being instructed to access an internal URL for reporting crashes. On my iPhone, I have analytics enabled as well as the setting to share them with app developers.

Go to Settings on your device (not on Brave, but on your iPhone or iPad)

Go to Analytics & Improvements

Click on Analytics Data

In the search bar on top, look for Client, this will be Brave.

You will be looking for something that looks like Client-2023-15-XXXXXX.ips
