Description of the issue:
Running macOS High Sierra (10.13.6), after the recent Brave update: all of my browser configurations were erased, but my bookmarks and other data remains.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
- Install the previous version of Brave on macOS High Sierra
- Change a setting (example: change default web browser to something other than Google)
- Update Brave to latest version
- Observe that the settings have reverted (example: default web browser has been reverted to Google again)
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
Expected result:
Settings remain the same across updates.
Reproduces how often:
Brave Version(about:brave):
Version 0.57.18 Chromium: 71.0.3578.80 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Reproducible on current live release (yes/no):
yes
Additional Information:
I see the old Brave version is still available as a greyed-out icon, and it’s not clear whether I should uninstall the old one manually or not. It is also a bit disappointing to have to re-configure the browser from scratch after the update.
