Configurations removed after update

Description of the issue:
Running macOS High Sierra (10.13.6), after the recent Brave update: all of my browser configurations were erased, but my bookmarks and other data remains.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Install the previous version of Brave on macOS High Sierra
  2. Change a setting (example: change default web browser to something other than Google)
  3. Update Brave to latest version
  4. Observe that the settings have reverted (example: default web browser has been reverted to Google again)

Expected result:
Settings remain the same across updates.

Brave Version(about:brave):
Version 0.57.18 Chromium: 71.0.3578.80 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Reproducible on current live release (yes/no):

Additional Information:
I see the old Brave version is still available as a greyed-out icon, and it’s not clear whether I should uninstall the old one manually or not. It is also a bit disappointing to have to re-configure the browser from scratch after the update.

Same thing happened to me. The browser updated last night and everything was reset. Search engine, themes, logged out of all websites. The older version is grayed out on my task bar as well.
