The new version doesn’t allow closing the browser with a single click when multiple tabs are open. Removing this feature was uncalled for.

Well, Please put back the “close, minimize & maximize” buttons at the top right hand corner of the browser.
Funny, it was my old theme named “desktop” from chrome store that made the buttons disappear after version upgrade, the buttons are back after i reinstalled the theme.
