Maybe stop opening a shitload of posts and actually follow-up on the ones you open? They get closed because you let them die. You know about the timeline but ignore it, then complain about the consequence. Nobody to blame about yourself.
A good easy cheap way to even bump your post is that because Brave updates so often within that period, update, try again, and update the post. Boom, never closes.
Ever notice they sometimes are complaining about closed posts that aren’t even their own?
While I do apologize for not being able to address every single post you and the other hundreds to thousands of users submit here, please understand that our Support is very small (~4 core team members) and are stretched thin across the litany of support platforms/channels we have to cover. Responding to every single post made is simply not possible, though we do our best to address as many issues as possible here on Community.
As for posts you’ve submitted, it is worth noting that many of them were responded to and you simply did not follow up on them. For example, just from this year:
- Why is only half the page being used? - #2 by Saoiray
- Brave:\\flags Experimental Brave Flags - #6
- Why Can't I Reply or Put This User in Timeout for failing to follow board behavior? Saoiray - #4 by Saoiray
- Recent Tab Option
I do see some threads you’ve created that did not receive a response, which is a fair complaint but again, we simply can’t address every thread that comes in. In these cases, if it’s been some time since you opened the topic and still haven’t gotten a response, the best thing to do would simply be to bump the thread by leaving another reply. You can even tag someone in support (like me, @mattches) in your reply so we know to take a look.
Lastly, to reiterate, there are lots of reasons to have posts auto-close after a time and you’ll find that we are most certainly not the only form that does this. The main reason this is implemented is to ensure forum quality, focus [on what’s relevant at the time] and accuracy. It also prevents what’s known as “necro-posting” – which is where old, obsolete topics are “revived” even though the feature, issue or complaint has already been addressed, fixed, added, etc. as time has passed since the post was originally made. It also reduces clean up time for support/mods and keeps things organized/up to date.
While I understand your frustration, I can’t help but note that the amount of time it took for you to open these topics complaining about closing threads is likely more than it would take to simply repost a previous topic that didn’t get an answer for or create a new one. It’s also taken up the time of support staff (like myself) and our moderators to reply to.
Once again acknowledging the irony here, I’m going to go ahead and close this thread as we do not need to keep rehashing the same conversation. Your feedback is appreciated and we will continue to improve the way our support Community functions down the line. If you have any Brave issues you need help with moving forward, please simply open a thread, fill out the template in the editor and we will do our best to assist you as quickly and accurately as we can. If you do not get a reply after a time, simply bump the thread, tag me personally so that I’m notified and can jump in to help you.
