I just updated my Brave to the latest version and I can no longer resize the tabs. In the previous version, it was possible, but now it’s too small.
Brave 1.80.124 (Versão oficial) 64 bits

and when using the vertical tabs sometimes you cant see the new tab under the pinned tabs is just blank until you click it

Yes – the fix should be included in the next browser update.
Something important I forgot to mention
Before the size bug, I already thought the maximum size was small. It would be interesting to allow the maximum size to be equal to the total width of the page.
Today I had an update but the tabs are still small, when will this be fixed ? ?
What version did you update to?
The Edge Browser has a width that takes up half the page, which is much higher than the Brave Browser. See the images below.
Just tested on my end and this does appear to be pushed into the release build of the browser as well.
As for the actual width I’m assuming that the team has tested this and set the limit to where it is (looks like ~1/4th the window width) intentionally. I’m not sure there’s a ton of value to increase the width as far as Edge does. I also haven’t seen many requests from users to increase this width.
You’re welcome to open a feature request for this if you’d like but I don’t think there are plans to increase the width further at this time.
I don’t understand why you’d open a request for something as simple as setting a higher number for 50% or 75% of the page.
I see that it’s enough to have the will and goodwill to do something as simple as that.
