Description of the issue:
Whenever I search my bookmarks, the input field loses focus frequently when the search results update. This is extremely annoying and unlike any other browser search feature I’ve ever encountered. I have a lot of bookmarks and if I mistype anything or change my search query, I have to mouse-click the search bar almost every time I want to edit the search.
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
- Open bookmarks side bar (Ctrl + B)
- Make sure you have a number of bookmarks. I used folders and sub-folders to organise my bookmarks, so make sure to test that as well.
- Click the search bookmarks field
- Type a few letters, then wait for the search results to update
- Try to type more; you’ll see the input field has lost focus and you need to click the field again to edit your search.
- This bug happens most often immediately after opening the bookmarks bar and typing in the first search. After a few edits of the search query, it sometimes starts to behave normally, only to randomly loses focus again at some point.
- While we’re at it: it would be really nice if the keyboard focus could move to the search box immediately when you press Ctrl+B.
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!)
Expected result:
Keyboard focus should stay in the search bar at all times when the user is just typing and editing their search query.
Reproduces how often:
Frequently, but as stated this bug comes and goes randomly. It happens most often immediately after opening the toolbar and doing your first search.
