Browser won’t open crashes immediately mac os Catalina

@Summer I’m very glad you were able to get your bookmarks back, and kudos for not only getting them working but backing them up in a browser-independent fashion. You remind me that my backup is overdue.

And thank you for your kind words, but my KungFu is far inferior to that of @Mattches. I’m just a fellow user with more time to spend on a given problem and the flexibility to choose which problems to spend that time on. Sure, I have a lot of experience using and troubleshooting lots of OSs, but when I get in over my head, I ask him or one of the other invaluable paid support people for help.

In fact, much like my mantrum taken from The I.T. Crowd (“Have you tried turning it off and on again?”), for Brave purposes, given the number of threads in which he’s used it, I must adopt “Have you tried turning acceleration and sync off?”

Thank You…!
found solution after a few hours.

From a user not a programer, 56 year who finds computers harder to use each year, I have no friends to network as computer literate youth and advanced users have. For me, computers/net became a nightmare when smart phones were introduced. Made a mess of everything for a few years of collective learning
The fast pace has been my struggle ever since that landmark.
Again thank you all…!
ps
I used App Zapper to remove old files and as usual apple makes finding these old trash files a sliver in a haystack, no app works as promisde to clean a apple loadstone. I will try to boycott Apple as I do google in the future. I used apple since the start, for me in 1986-87. Apple has become a monster.

Mac user, macos 10.13 I’m an beginner user , please keep in mind.
Did you try removing old file from previous installation, something like*(…Application Support/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/)*

/Users/Your name here/Library/Application Support/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/ or

I think I saw other solutions…breveted
[Finder] + [GO]+ [go to folder]
/Library/Application Support/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/

my APP ZAPPER missed that file when I deleted past install, first problem I’ve had since I started using Brave. The retreat from Google isn’t going to be easy.
I’m committed
