Brave updated a couple days ago to most recent version and then just updated today to 1.92.139; I was hoping the new update would fix the bug, but no.
So the back/forward/reload buttons next to the url bar in the browser are missing, or are invisible. As they can still be clicked and have mouse over properties but must be transparent. What’s more is that this invisible icon issue also exists in Google Docs making it impossible to use. I’ve had to switch back to Chrome and that thing is infuriating, though it does show its icons.
Running mac osx, Tahoe 26.5.1
I’ve reset settings to defaults, toggled all the appearance settings, uninstalled and reinstalled browser. Same issue.
Oh wow. Disabling Graphics Acceleration fixed the issue.
Sidenotes:
Brave Browser Nightly app did not have this issue.
And when I disabled some of the default flags, I bricked the app. Ran terminal with open -a “Brave Browser.app” -n --args --no-experiments from the Applications folder and was able to open the flags window and reset all to default. App opened once again.
Thank you for the information and for confirming. Yes – Graphics acceleration issues show up in very weird ways. I probably should have suggested it initially but I’ve never seen it affect the browser icons the way it did for you.
Either way, glad we were able to resolve the issue.
