Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?
On Android 17, when you to try and use the “Brave” widget with the 4x1 dimensions, it’ll become scrollable when it shouldn’t at those dimensions. On Android 16 the widget wasn’t scrollable.
Expected result: The widget shouldn’t be scrollable at 4x1.
Brave Version: 1.92.136
Mobile Device details: Pixel 9 Android 17
Additional Information: On Android 16 the widget wasn’t scrollable but on 17 it is.
Hello - Have you resized the widget? Once you expand from the 4x1 default, the inner scroll bar is enabled and it allows you to scroll through all your top sites.
I know once you expand it the widget it’s s scrollable. What I meant is that previously the widget when it was 4x1 wasn’t scrollable and I think that the expected behavior.
The scroll option was implemented due to Android’s fragmentation issues. We tested this extensively across various devices and Android OS flavors with mixed results. The scrollbar was added to provide consistent reliability across all Android environments.
Makes sense then as to why it was changed. Wouldn’t it be better though if we could choose? Quite a lot of widgets do have the option to tweak them to your liking. Or if the “Brave search” widget was updated because it looks old compered to the “Brave” widget.
