Why would you move the + tab button to the side when we’ve been used to it in the middle for who knows how long?! This is a surprisingly big inconvenience that keeps derailing me and making me make mistakes. Please at least give us the option to move it back to the middle!!
Still in middle. iPhone 14. iOS 18.7.8. Brave Browser v1.95 (104). Private Browsing Only mode:
PS. I recently did a complete, thorough uninstall of Brave Browser (iOS). That does resolve some issues - how to thoroughly uninstall:
Happy for you (and jealous). I’m brave 1.95, iPhone 15promax iOS 26.3.1. This change happened not too long ago, tho I can’t recall exactly when. I don’t have any lagging issues, it’s just the placement of these buttons that’s killing me. Thanks for responding
@Sunnyfish difference is you’re referring to only when you touch the tab switcher. What 289wk referenced is where it’s at by default. So if you don’t hit the square with a number around it to get to the screen you showed in screenshots, then you have the + right in the bottom middle.
If you’re on the new tab page, it will show a magnifying glass icon instead of the +, but if you hold down on the search glass it will show option for new tab.
As to the switch tabs page layout, I get you don’t like it. Not sure if it was an upstream change or if only by Brave. Either way, button is still available on the bottom middle like you requested unless you intentionally navigate to the one certain menu.
Giving a +1 for this as feedback!
Even if the new tab button is still located in the center while on a browser page, the fact that it’s on the left on the tab switcher page now means that the user now has inconsistent muscle memory to wrangle with.
Multiple times, I’ve accidentally switched to private browsing mode, only to become annoyed that the ui change was implemented, switching back to normal browsing mode, and then I opened a new tab.
