brave won't start and gives an "xcb" error

Hi. I am using brave on an arm64 linux phone. Since an update…brave no longer starts for me and gives the following error:

purism@onehand:~$ brave-browser
[xcb] Unknown sequence number while processing queue
[xcb] Most likely this is a multi-threaded client and XInitThreads has not been called
[xcb] Aborting, sorry about that.
brave: ../../src/xcb_io.c:269: poll_for_event: Assertion `!xcb_xlib_threads_sequence_lost’ failed.
/usr/bin/brave-browser: line 39: 62198 Aborted “$HERE/brave” “$@”

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Not sure how to begin solving this. Can’t find any reference to this problem.

Do you have the latest graphics card driver installed?

If you launch with hardware acceleration disabled, do you still see this issue?
brave-browser --disable-gpu

Hi @Evan123 thanks for responding. I tried that and had the same result. This issue is a bit over my head. Not sure where else to look for help. For now, i’m getting by with the flatpak…which has issues but is mostly usable for now.

Hoping for help or a fix via update…thanks for trying to help.
