Description: While watching YouTube, Brave window suddenly collapses. Video stops but audio continues playing. When I try to restore the window and go back to the
video, it happens again after 2-3 seconds.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open YouTube
2. Watch any video for a few minutes
3. Browser window collapses randomly, audio keeps playing

Expected: Browser stays open
Actual: Window collapses, audio continues

What I tried:
- Disabled hardware acceleration — no fix
- Deleted GrShaderCache, GraphiteDawnCache, ShaderCache — no fix
- Disabled all extensions — no fix
- Chrome works perfectly fine with same video/quality

Brave version: 1.88.138 Chromium: 146.0.7680.178
OS: Windows 10 Pro x64
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 8GB
CPU: Intel Core i7-12700F
RAM: 32GB

There’s a GitHub ticket I pushed for regarding this. It has NOT been fixed, and honestly even typing this the browser again froze, had to move a window to unfreeze it, it’s getting old and tiring.

> \### Description
>
> Note that much of this report is copied directly from a user's …report on Community. The user left a very detailed report and it does not make sense to reword a ton of it. I would like to note that the issue does not seem to be extension related and likely has to do with graphics processing in general (graphics accel = disabled not a solution here).
>
> \> While watching YouTube, at any random moment if at least it seems two windows are open, Brave’s UI will lock up, and the video will be frozen, but the audio continues to play for around 5 seconds, before that too locks up.
> \>
> \> It seems to be specific to YouTube only (and it’s hard to tell if it’s YouTube’s anti-adblock war causing this, or not. Being with how random it is, I haven’t found any known ways to intentionally cause it to occur).

> \### Steps to reproduce
>
> \> Have YouTube playing throughout the day on one window, and work in another window (it can be any website it seems, though ChatGPT and YouTube appear to be a combo that causes it to happen a bit more often). Eventually at some point (it may happen, it may not, sometimes it happens in a few hours, sometimes shorter), the UI freezes, but not the title bar (this is important for the workaround).

I hope it’s fixed but at this point I’ve had it for nearly a year (the ticket was created a while after enough people came with the same issue), and still no fixed. No comments from the devs.

Yeah looks like the same issue. Reports of this have gone down significantly since the issue was opened but clearly it’s still occurring for some people.

I commented in the issue with this report as a +1 and pinged a team member to see if we can get someone to take a pass at it.
