In Windows, open the Start Menu and in the search bar, look for System information.
You’ll see a Locale section there
Thanks, yes it is set to US. What other approach can be used?
One more thing to try – can you check your Windows “Focus assist” settings to see if you have notifications enabled?
Focus assist is a feature of Windows 10 for managing when and how notifications will be displayed on your machine. It’s essentially a “do not disturb” mode that may be blocking notifications from showing on your end.
You can find and adjust this setting on your Windows 10 machine by going to Settings --> System --> Focus Assist or by clicking on the notification center in the task bar.
I am on windows 7, so I assume this does not pertain to me. Am I destined to never use the ad function on the Brave Browser?
@Kyusho,
Good point – but adjusting notifications settings is still relevant. Please see this article for information on how to adjust Win7 notifications.
Thanks I got that, but not listing for “notifications” but all of them are on and I even reset defaults.
And can you confirm whether or not you’ve updated to Win 7 SP1?
I do automatic updates, so I suppose I have is that good or bad?
Yes service pak 1 is installed.
Hello Support are you still there???
@Kyusho,
We do have a known issue about this error marked as closed but since it’s still labeled as “in progress” it may be getting blocked by something:
Would you mind trying to download the Developer build of Brave and enabling ads on that version? It may seem silly but I’d like to know if it makes a difference.
Yes I already did this from the suggestions above, the ads seem to work in the Dev. Browser… see image. Please do not close this as it is still occuring:

@Kyusho,
My apologies – didn’t realized I’d already asked this.
I believe we have another user experiencing a similar issue. I’ve reached out to some team members for additional input.
Thank you for your patience.
No problems sir, just working to keep this alive until resolution… I want to take full advantage of your browser. Thank you.
@Kyusho,
I believe that the this should be resolved when the above issue is fixed and pushed. It looks like it’s already in the Nightly builds if you’d like to test (although the build itself isn’t entirely stable – may be better to wait until it hits dev).
Yeah I am not a tech guy so I will wait until this problem is fixed, hopefully soon. Unusable features are not good for public adoption. Thanks for the help… any idea of how long this will take to correct?
Should hit in 0.66x releases – thank you for your patience.
