my brave shields revert to standard (already set to aggressive before) after enabling ublock origin, should i change to aggressive again or just sit on standard? thanks
@Davidhench can you provide more details like what version of Brave you’re using, which Windows, etc. Just so you know, I have uBlock Origin and it’s enabled, but nothing in Shields gets changed. Usually they can’t touch each other.
Also would be curious if:
- You’re making sure that the settings you see getting changed is at
brave://settings/shieldsand you’re not changing in site specific but then looking back at global.
-and/or-
- You have Site and Shields Settings checked in
brave://settings/clearBrowserData.
@Saoiray ah sorry i did not notice that i checklist this box so whenever i close the brave, the shields settings are automatically turn back to standard, after un-checked that box i can run uBO with aggressive shields settings. my bad
so brave shields can work together with uBO without a problem??
Umm, yes and no. It’s going to load some of the same content filters and can slow down your browser. Also increases the chances of adblock detection like on YouTube from catching you and causing headaches. Or in potentially having some compatibility issues on sites. But in most situations you won’t notice much difference.
The idea situation is typically to use just one. I tend to rely just on Shields but have uBlock Origin available to help when I’m trying to create custom filters or something, as their logger is helpful and something that Shields is lacking.
Alright, thanks for helping me.
Do you need uBlock? Setting the shields to aggressive has always worked for me to block unwanted ads
