Brave search is blocked now (region restriction) - Ukraine

Description of the issue: Today (or maybe a few days ago) brave search stopped working, telling me, that “This service is not available in your region”. I am currently in Ukraine, not in the occupied zone (Zaporizhzhya, if need to be more specific). New policy, or wrong location restrictions?

Brave Version (check About Brave): on PC v 1.91.172, android Brave 1.91.171, Chromium 149.0.7827.103, on different laptops (not latest version there).

Operating System: win 11, android 16.

Test: Brave Browser (desktop users) > Guest Profile?

According to Brave Search (Answer with AI):

Unavailable Jurisdictions

Brave Search [Premium] and other Brave services are explicitly unavailable or limited in specific countries due to legal and regulatory compliance. As of mid-2025, these “unavailable jurisdictions” include:

  • Asia/Middle East: Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Myanmar, North Korea, State of Palestine, Syria, Yemen.

  • Europe: Belarus, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine.

  • Africa: Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Mali, Niger, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Zimbabwe.

  • Americas/Caribbean: Cuba, Venezuela.

  • Other: Hong Kong, Macao.

Users in these regions generally cannot access Brave services, meaning Premium accounts cannot be activated or used there.
