No I just downloaded the browser yesterday and haven’t messed with any settings
Could you check whether disabling Hardware Acceleration via brave://settings/system has a positive impact?

Wish I could say. Hardware Acceleration is a double-edged sword, it either works normally or break Brave’s functionality.
Just to confirm, disabling Hardware Acceleration resolved your issues with all websites you visit, correct?
Yes it seems so, at least the ones I was facing problems with
