I have trying to download Brave New Tab Background wallpaper from last couple of months; unable to find it either at https://brave.photos/ as the last updated wallpaper is dated June 10th 2025 and nothing post that.
Anyone to assist me on this over here.
The brave.photos website is not an official Brave site. https://brave.photos/about
You should see a link on each New Tab photo in the bottom-left. This usually links to the photo and photographer.
@Evan123 just a FYI, they often do go to the social media accounts for the photographer but not necessarily to their photo. And some, such as the cherry blossom background, actually links to Brave Community where there’s no direct link or credit to the actual photographer.
I’m talking about the one below, which was to Colton Everill
Clicking it just brings to https://community.brave.app/ which of course doesn’t have it.
All others are random. It either goes directly to the photo, to a social media account, or whatever.
Such as:
At least the latter can give people an opportunity to contact the photographer to try to get the image, if it’s not on the website. But the Colton Everill one would leave people for a loss overall, at least if they were looking for the original or wanted to contact the photographer directly.

Just pointing out to say it’s been requested a few times and Mattches has pinged relevant staff/devs. I’m not sure if the contributors aren’t giving permission, if it’s just a more niche thing and attention is on more important tasks for the moment,or what?
But for now, main thing we have for the normal background images is just to try to contact the photographers directly if they have their contact info linked on the bottom left of it.
It’s a bit more technical, but you can also pull it from the Console/Network logs.
Open Console (F12) in a New Tab.
Click on Network tab.
Look for the image, usually the photographer name in .jpg format.
Double-click and it will give you the full, clean image.

Brave stores these wallpapers/background images in this folder on Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data
Go to this folder and just search *.jpg from time to time and copy them to a location you want. They’re not deleted immediately after you close the browser.
