Hello,

Im am using Brave for several years now.
But now I am thinking about changing to another browser. The simple reason is that with every (automatic) update Brave is getting worse and worse.
Last annoying “features”: Display of “Tabs” in the upper line. If you have many open tabs, this only takes place and I can’t imagine what this is good for.
And what’s the sense that now you can’t edit the content of the input line any more?
Maybe there are commands to inhibit this behaviour, but seems to me they are not communicated.

Greetings,
Bjoern

Though you are providing certain feedback to Brave Support, your interest in Brave Browser and

**expressed by following the guidelines** , increase your chances of getting your points across, IMHO.

How do I submit a bug report? (Official Brave Help Center article)

Example of a good report:

> [How to stop the settings cog wheel icon from disappearing in Brave?](https://community.brave.app/t/how-to-stop-the-settings-cog-wheel-icon-from-disappearing-in-brave/573810)

Such organized reports, help Brave Support to more carefully and quickly determine how to proceed.

this is no website or shield specific problem.
If you touch the adress line, it’s content disappears, you can’t edit.

The edit button on the popup ist just one more step to get to edit mode. This is no improvement, this is worse.

And yes, chrome behaves the same way. But I don’t use chrome, I use brave.

And in chrome I don’t find the annoying “Tab” display.

In a Brave Browser **New Window** go to:

> brave://version

Please copy the first 4 lines:

- Brave:
- Revision:
- OS:
- Javascript:

and paste them, here.

We have an issue opened for this here:

>
> \### Description
>
> On Android, when you tap into the address bar while on a site, …the entire field is cleared. If a user wants to edit the address manually in any way, they have to tap the "edit" button in the options presented in order to do so.
>
> !\[Image\](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/e3633ef8-9b82-4da7-8294-3a76079e3f1f)
>
>
> This seems like an unnecessary additional step for anyone who wants to simply view the full URL or edit it. I believe this is inherited from Chromium, but I think we should remove this functionality.
>
> Perhaps a good middle ground might be tapping in the address bar keeps the URL there but \_highlights\_ it so that if a user does simply want to start typing and enter a new address, they can still do so easily, while users who simply want to view the URL or edit it manually can do so more quickly.
>
> \### Steps to reproduce
>
> 1. Launch Brave on Android
> 2. Visit a site
> 3. Tap into the address bar
>

Not sure what you’re referring to here, can you please elaborate or share a screenshot of what you’re seeing?
