# Brave failed to start

**Description of the issue:**  
“The application failed to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect.”  
**Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.**  
Not sure. My PC crashed and restarted itself. Tried to start Brave and got the error.  
**Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):**

**Expected result:**

**Reproduces how often:**  
Every time.  
**Operating System and Brave Version(See the `About Brave` page in the main menu):**  
Win10. Latest Brave build.  
**Additional Information:**  
I tried to locate the event log but I cannot locate it, if someone can help me then I can upload the file.

@JoeOhs can you:

- try download installer again from [brave.com](http://brave.com/) or if you have a copy on your machine,
- then run the installer.
- **No need to uninstall first.** Just run the installer. And see if it can “solve” your issue.
