Brave closing almost immediately after I launch it! Nothing helps?

Description of the issue:

Exact URL of the website in question: It seems to crash no matter what I open.

Did the issue present with default Shields settings? (yes/no) yes

Does the site function as expected when Shields are turned off? No

Is there a specific Shields configuration that causes the site to break? If so, tell us that configuration. (yes/no):

Does the site work as expected when using Chrome? firefox

Brave version (check About Brave):150.1.92.144

Can you please update to the latest build (released today - 1.92.144) and tell me if the issue persists?

Well it was working, now since I did the update it is back to crashing again. One of the things I love about Brave is watching you tube videos without interruptions! When it was working (temporarily) It was asking me to log into google to see my you tube videos which I never had to do before!

So guess it was not fixed!! I have used Brave for at least 2 years with no problems! This is frustrating. Thank you so much for reaching out to me! I appreciate any help you can offer.

After I updated and opened it now says:

Brave is up to date

Brave 1.93.129 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Chromium: 151.0.7922.71

And then it all closed again!

Do you have any extensions installed in the browser at this time? If so, can you try launching the browser and disabling them (if it will stay open long enough) and then test to see if the browser still crashes?

No extensions, I think they are always trouble! It still crashes!

I even went back and installed an older version of 1.93.129 which also did not help.

@CynTexas can you please tell what OS you’re using at this time?

I have Windows 10 ver 22H2

Would you please mind testing the Beta build of the browser on the same machine and tell me if it also crashes on launch?

Yes, I would be happy to download the Beta Build. Where do I find the Beta build? Can you send me a link?

I found it and downloaded it

Apologies – I intended to share the link to the Beta download in my last message. Does the Beta launch or does it also crash?

So far so good! It is staying open for 6 minutes.

Still open and seems to be working! What does this signify?

Good to know.
So this likely means there is some issue/data contained within your main browser profile (in the stable build) that is causing the crash.

I’d like to see if the browser will launch a Guest profile window (which will load without any data from your main profile in it). Can you please, in Windows, open the Command Line terminal then type the following command exactly:

"C:\Program Files\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\Application\brave.exe" --guest

(note that the --guest must appaer outside of the quotes at the end)
Hit enter and let me know if a guest window launches.

No a guest window does not launch.

Is not recognized as an internal or external command operable program or batch file

Access is denied.

Wait a minute! I did it again and it worked! I put 2 spaces before the 2 dashes and it opened a new window! A private window

Can you try just downloading and re-running the installer (no need to uninstall)?
