Brave can't keep the 24 hour format on start page

Description of the issue: Date Format keeps reverting back to 12 hour format when 24 hours is changed on Brave start page
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave

Expected result: To keep the 24 hour format in the start page

Brave Version( check About Brave): v1.83.118 (Oct 15, 2025)

Additional Information: MacOS 26.0.1 Tahoe MacBook Pro M4 Pro 16’ 24GB

It’s completely random and I can’t exactly determine what’s triggering that, not a big deal but just reporting this simple bug in which the 24 hours format sometimes gets changed itself to the 12 hours at Brave start page.

I’m referring to this page below (which is now fixed because I adjusted it again to the 24 hours format as it keeps changing to 12 hour format).

Hard to tell what’s causing this when it seems to occur randomly. I just tried testing a few things on my end (also on macOS Tahoe) and the 24hr clock format is remembered. I’m going to leave it in this format and continue working for a while and will check back on it ever so often to see if it’s changed.

Any other information you can provide about your setup? What extensions do you have installed there? Has this issue always happened or only after one of our more recent updates?
