So, you did encounter the following:

… and then you clicked on the “Brave Account” (RED) button. Correct?

According to Brave Search (Answer with AI):

Brave Origin Upgrade Stalls on iOS 1.91

For users on Brave Browser iOS version 1.91, the upgrade process to Brave Origin may stall at the red “Brave Account” button or within the account.brave.com web view due to authentication handoff issues between the browser and the payment portal. This is often resolved by restarting the app to refresh the session, using the “Get a Login Code” option instead of the direct purchase flow, or ensuring the device is running the final stable release.

If the process stalls at ‘account.brave.com’, it is likely a connectivity or session synchronization issue with that specific domain.

Step-by-step instructions

Prerequisites

  • An iPhone or iPad running the stable release of Brave Browser (verify version is 1.91.x or higher in Settings > Brave Browser Version).

  • An active internet connection.

  • If you have already purchased Origin on another device, have your Brave Account credentials or Purchase ID ready.

Resolution Steps

  1. Force Close and Restart: Fully close the Brave app (swipe up from the app switcher) and reopen it to clear any stalled web view sessions.

  2. Navigate to Settings: Tap the “…” menu icon, select All Settings, scroll to General, and tap Brave Origin.

  3. Alternative Activation Method:

    • If the “Buy now” or “Brave Account” button stalls, look for and tap the “Get a Login Code” or “Verify Brave Origin purchase” link instead.

    • This bypasses the immediate store redirect and allows you to authenticate via a code sent to your email or generated on the account page.

  4. Complete Authentication:

    • Enter the login code or sign in to your Brave account on the account.brave.com page if prompted.

    • Once verified, tap “Refresh Origin” on the account page if available.

  5. Finalize Upgrade: Return to the Brave app settings; the Brave Origin panel should now load, allowing you to toggle features or confirm the upgrade status.

  6. Reinstall (If Necessary): If the process continues to stall, delete the Brave app and reinstall it from the App Store to ensure all 1.91.x components are correctly installed, then repeat the steps above.

I would also test a different Internet connection. Also useful, to check DNS: ‘https://test.nextdns.io/

I tried to verify purchase as I have an existing license

@FireGuy473 is this still an issue? Are you running a VPN by chance? Will follow up with a DM.

Yes I am, I’m not using a VPN when I’m attempting to validate my purchase

Thanks, have you closed and re-opened the app?

Yes, multiple times. I have tried on different networks as well

@FireGuy473 do you have link preview enabled on your iOS device? I have seen this cause this issue before – if you do, try disabling it (either for your email app or system wide) then trying too login again.

That did not work, turned if off globally, there was no individual option to turn that off in the app. I use Microsoft Outlook currently for my mail app

And after turning it off globally you don’t see the link preview appear when you tap the app in Outlook?

That didn’t work, but I eventually got it to work by clicking the link below and not the button in the email

Those two links are the same thing so I’m not entirely clear why that worked but I’m glad it did regardless.

My exact thoughts, I tried it on a whim but at least it worked

I have the exact same problem and tried the troubleshooting steps without any luck.
