Brave’s employees are “stretched thin” to update Brave with the latest Chromium features, yet still maintaining privacy. Brave is based off of Chromium, which is developed by Google, and what runs Chrome and many other web browsers.
Brave makes extensive modifications to Chromium to maintain compatibility with Chromium, yet also provide an unique experience with Brave features shipping with the browser, such as Shields, Leo AI and others.
Brave currently makes web browsers for:
- Windows
- MacOS
- Linux
- Android
- iOS
This is enough platforms to keep Brave busy.
I have linked, however, an alternative to Brave that works for YouTube on smart TVs. This open source option provides details on how to install, what TVs are supported etc. Let me know if you find it useful.
