Brave BETA wouldn't open after today's Ubuntu update - Fixed/Workaround

Description of the issue:
After today’s (15/09/26) Ubuntu update, something happened causing Brave BETA to crash when opening and become unresponsive/glitchy beyond use until you kill the service.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave BETA

  2. Wait for it to crash

Expected result:

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Brave 1.95.87 (Official Build) beta (x86_64)
Chromium: 152.0.7977.42

Additional Information:

Error found:
ERROR:ui/ozone/platform/wayland/gpu/wayland_surface_factory.cc:249]
‘–ozone-platform=wayland’ is not compatible with Vulkan.
Consider switching to ‘–ozone-platform=x11’ or disabling Vulkan

  1. Open Brave via terminal as brave-browser --ozone-platform=x11 it should start fine as it isn’t using Vulkan.

  2. Go to brave://flags/

  3. Set force-enable-webgpu-interop to default (disabled).

  4. Set Vulkan | Use vulkan as the graphics backend. – Linux, Android | #enable-vulkan to default (disabled)

  5. Close & reopen Brave BETA and it should now work.

Also, apologies if this is in the wrong place. I looked at all categories and this, to me, seemed most suitable.
