Could you guys please explain why the android app uses google services as I received the message “No google services detected” when I run the app on my LineageOS phone.
And if you are open source why you are not available on F-Droid then? I am worrying about my privacy and this situation having app from google store (where every app has a google malware attached) doesn’t allow me to use your app. Sorry.

Maybe it’s a way to spoof or fake play services. There is an fdroid repository under the Geolocation section. Click

Then there is this guy on this thread.
This guy may not have Play Services installed, but is collecting bat. It’s not clear. I’ve messenged him, or tried to.
This has always been a major beef I have with Brave mobile and many other so called “Privacy focused” apps/services.
While you can install Micro G services in place and Brave will mostly work, payments for things like the new built-in VPN services won’t work (they’ll probably start working if you enable things like Safety Net in Micro G, but then that overrides the whole point of avoiding Google).
It’s weird that Brave and other companies hardly makes their app available outside of Play Store and even then still require Google services to function fully, essentially ignoring the eager users who adopt them early in the first place in favour of mainstream users who don’t care
