I recently started to try out the Brave browser and see that this feature still has not been implemented. Is it planned to be implemented, if so, when? Would like it if there was an option to automatically switch to a new tab if I open a link in a new tab. It’s something I’m used to in Firefox and finding it a little annoying when it doesn’t happen with Brave.

Comments from other users (and replies from Brave) suggest this behavior is inherited from Brave’s switch from Muon to Chromium.
