# Always show bookmarks on new tab page not working

**Description of the issue:**  
**How can this issue be reproduced?**

1. open new tab (default setting : showing a random satellite picture)
2. new tab will not show the bookmark bar if settings “Show bookmarks” is off and setting “Always show bookmarks on new tab page” is ON

**Expected result:**  
I would expect the bookmark bar to be shown when I create a new tab then diseapear if I start browsing on a specific site

**Brave Version( check `About Brave`):**  
Version 1.29.77 Chromium: 93.0.4577.63 (Official Build) (64-bit)

**Additional Information:**  
It’s a common feature on other browsers
